Although only five months young, dronologista blog has grown and needs a new attire.
As of 1st of September, dronologista.com moves to a new hosting, new address and slightly changes the appearance . Content will remain the same, and dronologista will continue to provide information about non-military drones only.
Commercial drones share in the global unmanned aerial vehicles market, is at the moment, a fraction. Majority of the spending is going to military UAV industry, but commercial drones are catching up. Business Insider states that “12% of an estimated $98 billion in cumulative global spending on aerial drones over the next decade will be for commercial purposes”.
It is no wonder then, that there are numerous startups that want a piece of that market. AngelList search result for ‘drones’ is 26 companies, 1081 investors and 2790 followers. Companies on that list are trying to tap into different niches of the market: Skycatch – logistics, DroneDeploy – command platform, HoneyComb – agriculture etc. Some of them are already well beyond initial stage, and are offering ready made product or services while others are trying to get there.
As of tomorrow, every Thursday, dronologista will present today’s startups and tomorrow’s tech giants that are spearheading the emergence of commercial drones.
If you are a startup in drone domain (service, hardware, software, application etc.), or you know one, please drop a note, and dronologista will gladly publish a post about it.
