Long anticipated, latest Parrot product has been presented at last.
Essentially a flying 14 MP camera with fisheye lens, it features unique image stabilizing solution: thanks to the 180-degree field of view, camera captures more than it needs, and then uses software to cut out desired parts and produce smooth video.
Two red rotors make it easy to tell front from the back of the drone, GPS lets the user plan the flight ahead, and all the flight data is stored to Parrot’s Pilot Academy cloud.
Range of the Parrot Bebop is limited to the range of Wi-Fi, but if coupled with optional Skycontroller hardware with amplified Wi-Fi radio and four antennas, you get whooping 2 km (1.2 miles) of range. Skycontroller allows any Android or iOS tablet to be docked, has two joysticks and a neck strap, that’s how big it is. Needless to say, Bebop can be connected to Oculus Rift.
